Summer Leadership Academy

Summer Leadership Academy is organised annually, in June. It brings together the students (future professionals and practitioners), experts, current professionals, as well as other interested stakeholders (NGOs, interest groups, media etc.). The main purpose of SLA is to empower participants’ path towards their own career as leaders in national, regional and local government, civil society organisations and other sectors of society.

Summer Leadership Academy enables participants to acquire the ability to perceive the elements of the basic disciplinary roots of leadership; find out how much leadership potential they possess; find out what type of leaders they have potential to develop into; learn about the importance of communication skills in leadership processes; learn about the importance of psychological and motivational influences on leadership with special emphasis on the emotional intelligence; acquire the ability of a broader interdisciplinary view on the (European) leadership process; have the opportunity to observe and critically evaluate individual leadership concepts; the acquired knowledge helps participants to analyse new approaches and evaluate their impacts on EU leadership, management and decision-making processes.

Every year the topics are highly relevant and adapted to the current needs. Participants have their successful participation at the Summer Leadership Academy fully recognised and evaluated according to ECTS (two credit points). Successful participants receive certificate upon completion of the Summer Leadership Academy.
