Visit to the European Committee of the Regions

September 17, 2024

The participants visited the European Committee of the Regions, where representatives of this consultative body explained its structure, working methods, its role and responsibilities as well as the challenges ahead.

The European Committee of the Regions is the EU's consultative body made up of locally and regionally elected representatives from all 27 Member States. The Committee's representatives discuss EU regulations that directly affect regions and cities.

Visit to the European Commission

September 18, 2024

The second visit as part of the field trip took place at the European Commission, which was in the process of forming a new 28-member team at the time of the visit.

 

During the presentation, the participants learnt many interesting facts (including the fact that the Treaty of Rome was signed on blank white sheets of paper)... and tested their knowledge with a quiz on how the European Commission works.

Reception at the Slovenian Business and Research Association 

September 18, 2024

As part of the field trip, the participants also visited the Slovenian Business and Research Association (SBRA), where they learnt about its activities and mission.

The Slovenian Business and Research Association (SBRA) has been active since 1999 and is the only non-profit association of Slovenian business, research and local communities in Brussels.
